Greg Sedgwick was a successful CEO of an Australian publicly listed building products company for seven years. Prior to that he spent twenty years working around the world for a FTSE30 listed industrial company. He has a demonstrated track record in business restructuring, growth and in delivering tangible financial improvement across large and diverse businesses. Greg currently chairs a number of private equity investments in the leisure and industrial sectors.
Greg has considerable understanding of the demands and constraints that come with being a publicly listed CEO.
After graduating Greg joined CIG Ltd (which later became BOC) and held a variety of sales marketing and operations role. In 1997 he was appointed Managing Director ISP South Pacific and South Asia. In 2000 Greg was promoted to London as Director of Business Development. Reporting to the CEO he was responsible for strategy, M&A and non-core businesses for BOC operating in 67 countries. One part of this role involved being Chairman of Afrox Healthcare in South Africa. This was one of the world’s largest private hospitals group with 70 hospitals and 17,000 employees. In 2004 Greg returned to Australia to become CEO of Crane Group, a $2billion sales building products company. Over seven years Greg restructured and grew this organization, delivering a 140% total return to shareholders. In 2011 Greg left Crane Group after agreeing to a takeover by another building products firm. Greg has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Commerce and has completed programs at Oxford, INSEAD and Columbia universities. He was a member of the Business Council of Australia and Deputy President of the Australian Industry Group.
Greg is married with two boys at university. He enjoys trekking, skiing, kayaking and collecting wine.
