Dame Inga Beale DBE
Dame Inga Beale is an experienced business leader, having spent over 40 years in financial services. Her final executive role was CEO of Lloyd’s of London, the global insurance market, from 2014 to 2018. She now has a portfolio of non-executive roles for Crawford & Company, NN Group NV, and Willis Towers Watson plc. She is also Chair of Carbon Asset Management and formerly held non-executive roles as Chair of Mediclinic, Independent Board Member at global law firm Clyde & Co, and Board Director of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Before joining Lloyd’s, Dame Inga was Group CEO of Canopius, an insurance company with its principal operations at Lloyd's.
Prior to that she was on the Global Management Board of Zurich Insurance Group in Switzerland. Her earlier roles include Group CEO of Swiss reinsurer Converium, and a variety of international leadership positions for GE Insurance Solutions where she was based in the UK, USA, France and Germany.
She started her career as a reinsurance underwriter in London with Prudential and qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute in 1987.
She is also a motivational speaker focusing on culture and technological transformation and was awarded her Damehood in 2017 for services to the UK economy and for her work supporting women and the LGBTQ+ community. Her philanthropic interests include being an Ambassador for Stonewall.
