Overview

David is a Trustee of The Institute for Fiscal Studies, Pro Bono Economics and Windsor Leadership Trust; Chair of the Gregson Family Foundation and of #BeeWell (which is seeking to improve the wellbeing of young people across England); Advisor to both the Sutton Trust (which seeks to improve social mobility through education) and Phoenix Equity Partners (a leading mid-market private equity group); a Director of The Barclays Women’s Super League; and a member of the Advisory Board of Alliance Manchester Business School.

Previously, David was a co-founder and Chairman of Phoenix. Over his career, he has been a director or Chairman of some thirty-five companies or charities. Most recently, David has been Chairman of the LTA, which is responsible for tennis in Britain; Chairman of CGL, the UK's largest social and health care charity; and a Director of LLDC, which is transforming East London following the 2012 Games. David has an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School and an MA in Maths and Physics from Cambridge University.

David lives in The Hague in The Netherlands and is married to Renee, with three grown-up children. David’s interests revolve around his family, sports, politics with a determination to seek to make a positive difference to the lives of young people in Britain.
