David Harris
David Harris is a former Non-Executive Director of the global law firm Eversheds Sutherland International and a current Board Adviser to British Parasnowsport. In addition to his mentoring work, David provides executive coaching and non-executive and advisory services. He is also a member of the London and South East Regional Leadership Group of the Charity Mosaic, part of The Prince’s Trust.
David was previously Co-CEO and Managing Partner of Hogan Lovells for nearly 10 years. He retired from Hogan Lovells in June 2014, having been with the firm for 32 years, 28 years as a Partner.
David led the firm through a significant period of change and international expansion, devising and implementing the strategy for the largest transatlantic merger ever undertaken in the legal sector. He also drove significant improvements in business performance, transformed the approach to business development and client relationship management and enhanced the profile and standing of the firm in the market.
Following the merger which created Hogan Lovells, David was awarded Management Partner of the Year Award by Legal Business and Partner of the Year Award by The Lawyer.
Prior to assuming a full-time management role, David was a capital markets practitioner specialising in structured finance.
David has had a longstanding involvement in diversity issues and has been actively engaged in promoting and implementing a wide range of gender diversity initiatives. He has also been closely involved in mentoring lawyers and business services professionals at key points in their careers and is experienced in addressing diversity issues in his mentoring and coaching work.
David went to King Edward’s School in Birmingham and has a London University law degree. He is married with four children. He is a keen sportsman and musician, devoting his free time to riding, skiing and honing his guitar skills.
