Merryck welcomes two new Mentors amid strong growth plans

Helen and John

Merryck enjoyed a successful 2022 and is on track to continue its growth trajectory in 2023. We are building our capabilities with a particular focus on our Faculty of Mentors.

We are delighted to welcome Helen Ashton and John McGuigan to our Faculty and look forward to partnering with them to support clients in a landscape of CEO transitions, transformation, hybrid workers, increased cyber threats, climate change & sustainability, diversity & inclusion and a growing focus on people and mental health.

John has over 35 years of experience across Financial Services, Healthcare and TMT. He has worked internationally at ExCo level for global corporations, FTSE100 organisations and in the public sector. He has been recognised for his extensive knowledge of developing and delivering market leading customer experience working in partnership with brands including Apple, Google and TCS. John’s most recent role was Group Customer Director at Phoenix Group and as a member of the ExCo he was responsible for the development and delivery of an omni channel experience. John was part of the core team who sold Standard Life to Phoenix in 2018, and he was involved in a range of M&A activity whilst at Telefónica. John is now Chair of Scottish Financial Enterprise, a Non-Executive for the Scottish Ambulance Service and an advisor to Fintech companies.

Helen has 30 years of experience as a leader in industries from retail to business services and financial services as well as a decade of Board experience in Executive Director and Non-Executive Director roles in FTSE 350 businesses. Starting her career as an accountant, Helen recognised the power of numbers within businesses to support her wider leadership ambitions. She has extensive experience of developing purpose led cultures, nurturing high performance teams and is proud of her straightforward candour. Helen has a portfolio of Non-Executive and advisor roles and is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion.

Chris Beer, Executive Director at Merryck & Co. said:
